Tournament Format
The tournaments above are run by TNVolley.com and hosted at Nashville Beach. Because the tournaments are run at Nashville Beach, they require that every person that is playing, pay a one-time yearly fee of $15 to http://www.volleyamerica.com/. This covers their event insurance for the year. It also allows you to play in any associated volley America tournament.

This is going to be a series style tournament tour. Double elimination, match play, Olympic crossover. Depending on the number of teams, we may have to play one game to 25 in the loser bracket after the the first round of loser bracket games are completed. That way everyone gets in at least 4 games. The tournaments will be capped to 24 total teams, just because we only have 3 courts. So, it will be first come first serve on the signup. On the 2 two day tournaments, there will be NO cap on the number of teams.
For seeding, you are seeded off of your best 2 of your last 3 tournament finishes. For example, players 1 and player 2 team up. Player 1 has finishes of 3, 5, 7... Player 2 has finishes of 1, 3, 7. Player 1 drops the 7 and averages a 4, player 2 drops the 7 and averages a 2, as a team they average 3. Every team is placed by the same scoring system and the lowest number is the 1 seed, etc... If there is a tie, then the last tournament result is the tiebreaker.
***As the tournament director, I have the right to place a team accordingly if the team has never played an event. If the team has played in at least 1 event, the same scoring system above always applies.***
To qualify for the invitation only series championship tournament, you must have competed in at least 2 series tournaments that year. The top 10 players (10 men, 10 women) will be awarded an invite. If player 2 plays with player 4, then player 11 will receive an invite and so forth, to ensure we have 10 teams total per gender. Top 10 players are choosen as a result of the highest point totals from top 4 finishes of the year. Below is the points system by finish.

Entry fee is going to be $30 for open division and $20 A for division per player, $60 for open division and $40 for A division per team. This is the standard charge across the region.
Payout - I have a rental fee from the facility. So, payout will be determined by the number of teams. After the rental fee, 100% of tournament entry fees will be paid out for Open division. 0-14 teams payout for top 2 teams. 15+ teams the two 3rd place teams with be paid as well. The A division payout varies on the tournament. It will either consist of money or prizes.
The day prior to the tournament, the bracket will be released along with start times, who plays, who refs, etc… After the first round, loser refs on the court they lost on. If the losing team leaves before they ref, they should have already talked with someone to cover for them, if do not and just leave, a $10 fee will be added to your next tournament entry fee. You will not be allowed to enter without paying that fee.
